How I work
Building empathetic, high-performing teams
With experience in both startups and nonprofits, I've honed a lean approach to design and research. My focus is on building teams that prioritize human-centered design—rooted in empathy, collaboration, and mutual respect. I foster a culture where cross-functional partners work together toward a shared purpose. I thrive on solving problems as a team, uniting people around a common goal, and getting things done—together.
Lean discovery processes
Discovery is often a phase compressed or overlooked, but I believe it's a critical foundation. By slowing down to collaboratively define problems, focus on the right challenges, and explore potential solutions, we can accelerate the project in the long run. I lead discovery and prioritization workshops and generative research to ensure we're tackling the most important problems from the start.
Generative research & collaborative synthesis
In addition to foundational research, I believe in conducting fast and frequent directional research that help teams align quickly and make informed decisions. My approach encourages ongoing collaborative synthesis to build a shared understanding of insights and iterate rapidly.
Vision & ideation workshops
I’m known for turning any empty room into a hub of creativity. I design and facilitate vision and ideation workshops that inspire teams, generate ideas, and drive alignment. I also teach others how to lead these workshops, ensuring that the process is inclusive, productive, and fun.
Heuristic evaluation
I guide teams in leveraging established heuristics to improve product quality—whether for mature products or experimental prototypes. I train cross-functional teams on how to conduct effective evaluations, facilitate the process, and communicate findings. Acting on these insights often results in quick wins that can significantly elevate the user experience.
Workflow visualizations
I use UX maps as a powerful tool to identify friction points in user workflows or to visualize a lifecycle. These maps help us prioritize focus areas, establish clear success metrics, and align with stakeholders on what matters most.
